NEW $200,000 AD: Rising Costs, Thanks To Unprecedented Tariffs Supported By John James, Are Squeezing Small Business Owners
Today, Michigan Families For Fair Care released a new ad highlighting a Michigan small business owner who is struggling to keep up with rising costs, thanks to tariffs supported by Rep. John James (MI-10). The ad, “Deli,” highlights RJ, who owns a deli in Clinton Township and speaks on the impact of tariffs on his business.
Watch the ad here.
“These tariffs are punishing small business owners like me, who play by the rules and want to provide for our families and our communities,” said RJ Haring. “Instead of fighting to make our lives a little easier, Congressman John James voted to effectively raise costs on my business, raise prices for Michiganders, just to give tax breaks to the wealthy and big corporations. That's not leadership, and we desperately need elected officials like Rep. James to do better by his constituents.”
Transcript of “Deli” below:
We’re celebrating the deli’s 3 year anniversary.
My grandad never got to see this place open.
He passed away three months after I moved back.
Wish he could have seen it.
But with rising costs, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we make it to year four.
John James and Republicans in Congress backed the tariffs.
They keep raising costs on nearly everything.
Sodas, chips, napkins, everything.
We just can’t afford it. And neither can our customers.
Rich and big companies are getting more and we’re eating the costs.
Tell Rep. John James to stop supporting tariffs that raise costs.
