NEW AD: CONGRESSMAN JOHN JAMES'S SUPPORT OF TARIFFS PLACES ECONOMIC WEIGHT ON TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

Today, Michigan Families for Fair Care launched a new ad as part of its multi-million dollar ad campaign to educate Michiganders about Representative John James's support of tariffs that have led to increased prices on everyday goods while he simultaneously supports tax cuts that primarily benefit the ultra-wealthy.

The ad highlights how James's tariff policies are directly impacting Michigan families' wallets, making everyday necessities more expensive for working families while he champions tax policies that favor the wealthiest Americans.

Todd Bloch, Middle School Science Teacher in Macomb County

"As a teacher here in Macomb County, I'm already stretching every dollar to get supplies for students. Now with these tariffs making everything from school supplies to groceries more expensive, it's even harder to provide for the needs of my classrooms. Meanwhile, Congressman James supports tax cuts for people who don't need the help. Teachers and working families shouldn't have to choose between buying supplies for our students and putting food on our own tables."

Steve Lawson, Executive Director of Michigan Families for Fair Care

"It is unconscionable that Representative James supports policies that make everyday goods more expensive for hardworking Michigan families while simultaneously backing tax cuts that primarily benefit the ultra-wealthy. The families, teachers, and students in this district deserve to know how these policies are hitting their pocketbooks while the richest Americans get relief."

TODD BLOCH: “I've worked in classrooms for twenty-five years. Teachers at my school are always dipping into our pockets to pay for supplies. That's harder to do these days. Everything is so expensive.

“With John James supporting tariffs it reminds me of Newton’s law that says: For every action. There is an equal and opposite reaction.

“The action is John James supporting tariffs, the reaction is rising costs for everyone that lives in his community all while giving tax cuts to billionaires and big corporations.

Great for them. We pay the price.”
