NEW AD FEATURES MI-04 SMALL BUSINESS OWNER CALLING OUT CONGRESSMAN BILL HUIZENGA FOR SUPPORTING TARIFFS THAT THREATEN SMALL BUSINESSES
Michigan Families for Fair Care premiered our final ad on Tuesday, featuring Brian, a coffee company owner in Michigan’s 4th Congressional District, describing how the tariffs Congressman Bill Huizenga has supported are driving up costs and threatening small businesses like his across Michigan’s 4th Congressional District.
The ad, “Brian,” features a MI-04 business owner who has been impacted heavily by tariffs on coffee imports with his individual bags costing over 30% more than before. Congressman Huizenga has backed these tariffs that have raised the cost of running Brian’s business and squeezed the customers he serves. Meanwhile, Congressman Huizenga voted for the Republican Tax Law, which handed tax breaks to billionaires while working families and small businesses are left to foot the bill. Michigan Families for Fair Care is calling on Congressman Huizenga to give his constituents their money back and to stop the cost-raising tariffs that continue to hurt small businesses like Brian’s.
The ad is the final piece of our ad campaign to hold Congressman Bill Huizenga accountable for his votes in Congress. We will continue in our work of informing constituents of the policies he has supported that have made costs more expensive and health care less accessible for working families and seniors across Michigan’s 4th Congressional District.
BRIAN:
“I own a small coffee company in Southwest Michigan. It’s hard work, but I love serving my community. Ever since the tariffs hit, costs have skyrocketed. A bag of my coffee has gone up 30%.
Congressman Bill Huizenga voted to support the tariffs that are threatening small businesses like mine. And he voted to give tax breaks to billionaires while my customers and I pay the price. Bill Huizenga needs to support small businesses, not billionaires.”
